I finished these today for the up-coming most exciting part of my summer, Firefly Arts Collective. This year, both Cara and my friend Jess Shada are coming. I can’t wait, you don’t even know.

I finished this etching today. We were listening to Modest Mouse last night when I was doing my last layer of hard ground, so I feel like the title suits it well. Hopefully it is accepted into not one, but two shows!
(sorry for the lack of updates, I’m a super busy girl)
Sorry I’ve neglected this blog for like… 3 weeks. It was spring break, then I had two hell weeks of critiques and things being due. Here is something I just recently finished. Rimer finally assigned a silkscreen exchanged this semester, and the theme is “2012: Year of the Apocalypse.” I used this drawing on a larger scale for my thematic drawing class, but basically it shows everyday objects one can use to kill zombies.
“Recreational Weapons” Spring 2012
Heading to the studio later today to draw lots of stereotypes, make a book, and prepare my next etching plates…

This one was one the first I did for this series… so it’s kinda like the best proof that came out. Then I turned the plexi vertically and made wayyy cooler looking ones. Spring 2011
This is a ghost of the previous one, with some added stencils. Spring 2011

This was my first Thematic Drawing project. I like it a lot better scanned as an image because I covered the backgrounds with this lame gray toned acrylic and it looked like crap. In critique someone was like… “it looks like you did the background last minute and didn’t think about how it would look” which is exactly what I did. hehe, whoops.
Anyway, I’m working with apocalyptic images in this class, and I got this idea from watching too much Dr. Who. <3 February 2012 Please click it to see the full image!
